Just as you have been going through, I had to do a lot of pre-work for deciding on the interior design parameters for "Nilo". I think what I can add to your description of a good design or a prerequisite for a good design is a clear brief to the designer. In this respect, I had the chance to describe what we were looking for very clearly. My design brief was a colorful summer house, which should not be flashy. Comfort was the other important element I have emphasized, along with the safe and smooth working of the layout.
